US: Student debt just hit $1.5 trillion

• College graduates leave school with about $37,000 in debt on average.
• One in six graduates have debt that exceeds their income.
• Student debt has grown quickly: it has jumped from $600 billion 10 years ago to $1.5 trillion in the first quarter of 2018.
